Visit to Cyprus – April 2018

Our school took the responsibility to present to all the partners the gastronomic part of the tourist package emphasizing on traditional Cypriot products. The gastronomy of a region can have a significant role on its economic development because tourists will definitely prefer a place to visit with rich gastronomic options.

Hence, we visited each day different places to learn the process of production of traditional food. On Tuesday we traveled to Arsos where we had a presentation on how Palloyzes is being produced as well as the famous Cypriot Olive oil. Later we went to Omodos to test the famous Cypriot wine, Commanaria. On Wednesday we visited Katerina’s spoon sweets in Platres where, among others,  we learned how to preserve food for a long period of time.

On Thursday we visited a traditional farm to watch the process of how Halloumi cheese is made.

During this week, we had other fun activities like treasure hunt in the city, traditional games and tour in the municipality of Limassol.

Finally, all the partners worked together to fulfill the other goals of the meeting, which among others were to train on the web tools and to prepare the meetings to follow.
